I love bringing people together, and music is one of the best ways to do that. Music evokes memories and deep feelings, and can bring joy, peace and healing.
I began my musical studies as a child, starting lessons in Calgary through the Suzuki method. This technique was developed by internationally renowned Japanese educator, philosopher and violinist, Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, who believed that “any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue.”
I went on to study with some of Calgary’s best music teachers and completed my Grade 9 violin examination (Honors) and Grade 8 piano, (Honors), The Royal Conservatory of Music.
As an accomplished violinist and pianist with a background in classical music, I frequently perform in retirement residences and care centres, and have also performed in hospitals, hospice and a women’s shelter.
I specialize in performing light classical, popular, Celtic fiddle tunes, folk music and jazz standards, and play music for special occasions, Christmas events, weddings and celebrations of all kinds, either solo or with another musician.
Some of the places I’ve performed include Holt Renfrew’s Christmas season celebrations; in a tango band, in a tango show presented by Dance Calgary; as a guest violinist playing klezmer music with Take the OY Train; and at Spiritual Directions in Calgary as musical accompaniment for singer Rebecca Levant, a cantorial soloist and specialist in Jewish music.
I would love to make your event memorable, whatever the occasion. Let's have a conversation as to how I can be of service. Please contact me today.
